Strollers run out of time against Wigtown

Strollers were eliminated from the Scottish Cup despite taking the lead through Craig Dickson.

After hitting the woodwork on the half-hour mark, the midfielder's strike rocketed into the net from 25 yards. Wigtown levelled in the opening minutes of the second half. Alan Murdoch was able to head into an empty net after the ball had struck the post.

Strollers' efforts were dealt a blow when Burgess was sent off for kicking out at Murdoch. With only minutes remaining, Strollers had a chance when Dickson headed wide. From the resulting goal kick, Adam Dougan broke away into the Strollers box. He was tripped by James Robertson and a penalty was awarded. Stuart Cluckie fired the ball home and Wigtown through to round two.
