Cypriots meet to end division

GREEK and Turkish Cypriots have agreed to launch talks on 3 September to reunite their island.
Continuing division is damaging Turkey's chances of joining the European Union, and a four-year impasse has prolonged almost 30 years of separation.

The problems in Cyprus do reflect the problems of the Turkey entrance to the EEC. Are they resolvable? Yes. Will they be resolved—no?
My last holiday in North Cyprus had en-suite minaret calls five times per day.
I do miss the Sunday bells over Europe. Now the silence is deafening. Perhaps it could be extended to other peoples. Historically, Turkey in one name or another has been part of Europe into pre-history. We wait on Turkey returning to the fold to retake its historical place.
